England
"A Journey into Legend"
with Tricia
McCannon and Robert Perala
August
7th through August 18th - 2003
Merlin,
King Arthur, Avalon, Goddesses, Druids, and the standing stones... all of
these are synonymous with the sacred lands of the British Isles. For over
twenty years Tricia McCannon has explored the mysteries of the Summerlands,
the ancient places where legends lived and are still encoded into the land.
Together with Robert Perala, author of "The Divine Architect" and
"The Divine Blueprint," we have put together a trip filled with
history, magic, sacred places, ceremony and of course mystical shopping.
Our group of pilgrims
begins their journey in London as we fly into Heathrow Airport. London is
a world class city, rich with centuries of history. Full of landmark places
like Westminister Cathedral, the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, Kensington
Palace, and the elegant Covent Gardens where the "theater district"
reigns, we will spend a day and a half exploring the city on the charming
double-decker buses that give us guided tours of the entire city. A morning
at Madame Trussaud's wax museum is both wonderfully fun and gives us a sense
of history for the events that have shaped European and American culture.
Leaving
London we lunch in the city of Windsor only an hour away, taking a few hours
to explore the elegant State Apartments, St. George's Chapel, and the old
Castle City of Windsor. In the late afternoon we arrive at the quaint village
of Cholderton, only ten minutes from the stone circle of Stonehenge. Group
meeting to prepare ourselves for our dawn ceremony inside of Stonehenge. Over
the next few days we explore Avebury's famous stone circles, Silbury Hill,
West Kennett Longbarrow and the sacred Grove of Knowl Down, following the
energy lines that extend around Stonehenge. We also visit some of the latest
Crop Circles in the area.
These
amazing crop formations provide powerful proof of inter-dimensional contact
between our Earth and whatever is creating them, and each seems to have its
own geometric energy field. We will tune into the energies of both crop circles
and stone circles to connect with the land and the energy grids of the Earth.
Beneath the full moon of August 12th, the window of the "Day of the Dove",
we do ceremony inside of Woodhenge to bless the Earth for peace, touching
into the magic that has made it famous for over three thousand years.
We
journey next to Glastonbury, once called Avalon, where the ancient priestesses
practiced the craft of Earth wizardry. Called by many the "heart chakra
of the planet" Glastonbury is famous as a medieval village full of ancient
and new age shops of every description. Rising above it is the majestic Tor,
a huge hill with seven serpent rings, from which one can see the coastline
of the ocean many miles away.
At
its base is Chalice Well, the ancient fount of the Great Cosmic Mother, with
her two streams of water, one a soft rose like blood (filled with iron ores)
and one stream running white. It was here that Joseph of Arimethea set up
the first Christian church in 37 AD, having befriended the Druids of the time.
Walk through the sacred gardens here. Meditate at the well. Touch your forehead
to the two yew trees that act as portals. Visit Wearyal Hill and the the 2000
year-old thorn tree that legend tells us grew from Joseph's staff when he
planted it 20 centuries ago. We will spend two days basking in the magic of
this area before moving on to Tintagel.
Enchanted
Tintagel is in Cornwall, the westernmost boot of the British Isles. Legend
tells us that it was the birthplace of both Arthur and Merlin, and visiting
the huge caves, crashing waves and powerful cliffs, one cannot doubt it. This
is the place of the greatest "Earth Magic" I have ever experienced.
The ancient castle of Queen Ugraine and the Duke of Cornwall rises from the
cliffs, virtually impenetrable to any advancing army. Down below on the beach
is a series of caves, including Merlin's Cave, where the ley lines of the
dragon power resonates with magic. The cave is open on both ends so that when
the tide rushes in to fill it one
cannot pass through. When the tide is out we can step inside of it for ceremony.
Spend the afternoon in the magical village of Tintagel visiting the Dragon's
Lair and other wonderful shops.
On
our last day we travel to the hidden woods St. Nectan's Glen, an ancient primordial
forest inhabited only by the fairies. This is the home of the Lady of the
Lake. As we walk in reverence through the sacred forest to the foothills of
her huge waterfall, Her presence comes among us. We reflect on who we are
and how our lives are connected to the larger whole. England is an ancient
land whose magic and power awakens our memories and makes our blood sing.
Come and journey with us as we partake of her rich and ancient wisdom.
