Egyptian Itinerary
"Initiates Journey Along the Nile"

March 2004

Day One:
Catch our planes to fly into Cairo.

Day Two: Morning arrival in Cairo and settle into our hotel next to the Giza Plateau, the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx. Evening "get acquainted" dinner together as a group.

Day Three: Explore the famous Egyptian Cairo museum today with its priceless treasures, including the wonders of Tutankhamon. Become acquainted with the first Egyptian Trinity of Isis, Osiris and Horus, Love, Wisdom and Truth. Group orientation dinner that evening to better understand the Nile, the mysteries of Egypt, the Initiates Path and our purpose in coming to Egypt.

Day Four: Leave Cairo for Luxor and then onto Abu Simbel, the southernmost Temple of the Nile. Built by Rames II as a statement of Egypt's strength to the Nubian Empires, it is a monument to Ra, the sun God, the everlasting Source from whom Pharaoh derives his strength. Evening ceremony alone in the Temples of Rames II and his Queen Nefertari. Overnight stay in Abu Simbel.

Day Five: Sunrise over the waters of Abu Simbel, then we catch our flights back to Aswan where we board our ship for a five-day cruise up the Nile. Travel this afternoon by felucca boat to the magical island of Philae dedicated to Isis. This is a beautiful and lyrical place where legend tells us that Isis fled during the years when her evil brother Set took the kingdom. It was here on this island amidst the rushes and the blue waters that the god king Horus was born.

Day Six: Continuing our cruise up the Nile we visit Kom Ombo, dedicated to the balance between light and darkness, the gods Horus and Set, and we experience the initiation of fear and fearlessness that all Initiates had to endure. Having passed these tests with bravery, we continue north to the enormous Temples of Edfu where the Temples of Horus reigned, then to the Temples of Khnum, the ram-headed god who spun your destiny on the Potter's Wheel of Life.

Day Seven: Our cruise brings us to Luxor, once known as the ancient city of Thebes, home of the triple pantheon of Amon-Ra, Mut and Konsu. This is the heart of the Egyptian world. Explore the bazaars and markets of Luxor, and take in the beauty of papyrus paintings, rich carpets and brass pottery. A special visit to the incredible perfume and oil vendors gives us a chance to do some much needed shopping. Ceremony tonight in the Temples of Karnak and Luxor, the heart chakra of the Nile.

Day Eight: Leaving our cruise we go north by coach to the city of Denderah, home of the Hathors, the sound healing schools and the celestial starclock dated almost 12,000 years ago. This is a temple of healing, which prepares us to enter the Temples of Osiris in Abydos in the afternoon. Abydos has the Osirion, the place dedicated to the Lord of Light, the King of the Dead who greets the pilgrim in the Halls of Amenti. Return early evening by coach to our cruise ship to overnight in Luxor.

Day Nine: This morning we fly back to Cairo, and then onto the spectacular resorts surrounding the famous Dead Sea. We settle into our plush rooms for two days and enjoy an afternoon of sharing and play on the beaches. Overnight at the Dead Sea.

Day Ten: A full day of swimming, reflection, sharing and rest at the beaches before returning to Cairo tomorrow.

Day Eleven: Morning return to Cairo to play in the city. Afternoon camel or horseback riding on the desert sands around the Giza plateau. Evening ceremony inside of the Great Pyramid of Giza from 9 until 12:00PM.

Day Twelve: Morning at rest. Afternoon free in Cairo for last minute shopping. Celebration dinner together and closure.

Day Thirteen: Pack, hug good-bye and and catch our planes back for the States.
