Day
One: (Saturday) Fly out of your originating City and into Miami,
Houston or Dallas, all of whom have connecting flights into Roatan via
Sol or Taca Airlines. We will arrive around 4:30 to be picked up by
our local American guides, Lorin Zaret and Bruce Starr. They will take
us to our hotel at the Tropicana Beach Club located right on the sandy
beaches. As soon as you enter this tropical location, there is a sense
of tranquility on an area already known as paradise. The tall bamboo
and other exotic trees and bushes lining the gravel driveway up to the
house tell a lot about what the explorer is about to experience. The
Inn is located in Sandy Bay just minutes from West End, a town with
dozens of excellent restaurants, gift and dive shops. This sleepy community
is the perfect location to begin day long trips to anywhere on the island.
Relaxed group dinner that night as we settle in for sharing our Welcome
Dinner together.
Day
Two: Morning Breakfast together in the Inn over looking the incredible
Carribean. Our Inn has rooms with private entrances with can either
sleep two in complete privacy or up to six in a dormlike environment.
From the second floor deck, the view of the beach touching the mutli-colored
waters is unmatched. Out a quater of a mile stands a fifty-mile reef,
the second largest in the world next to the Great Barrier Reef in Austraila.
Four wooden piers allow us to walk over the water for the magnificent
sunsets and sunrises. Upstairs a large sprawling deck is lined with
wooden lounge chairs that make for a bug free relaxing day in the sun.
It is easy to see hundreds of wild dolphins just on the far side of
the reef. At night, lights line the dock breaking the darkness or with
the lights out, star watchers will be able to see countless constellations
at their brightest and clearest. Back at the Inn is a small intimate
pool, a Tiki bar and BBQ. Upstairs nutritious breakfasts and fresh island
special dinners await you as you overlook the beach and sea. The Inn
is the island home of the freshest, 100% Noni plant and juice, used
for centuries in healing.
This
morning we will have time to relax on the beach, and really sink into
our Roatan Vacation. Snorkeling and diving off shore for those that
want it. Dolphin watching and communication for the rest. Snorkel along
the reefs to explore the exotic fish. Search for some of the thirty
amazing 16th and 17th century shipwrecks scattered just off shore.
Many
of these are only ten to twenty feet underwater, making them easily
seen in the aqua blue green waters. Sunset
dinner in town at the Lighthouse Restaurant.
Day
Three: After a wonderful breakfast we go swimming
with the dolphins. Lunch at the Dolphin Cafe where we get to watch the
Dolphin Show. Afternoon spent at the beach or optional horseback riding.
Evening out on the town enjoying the West End night life.
Day
Four: We fly to San Pedro Sula where we take a non-stop air-conditioned
luxury bus to Copan. Then a two-day guided tour to one of the great
Mayan ruins in the world. Copan is one of the great "lost cities"
of the Mayan Empire. Climb the step pyramids of the Mayans and learn
about the ancients. Overnight at a hotel in Copan.
Day
Five: Morning Sound Meditation from atop the ruins. Spend the day
connecting with this vortex of power. Late afternooon flight back to
Roatan.
Day
Six: Spend the morning on a one-hour glass bottom boat tour or floating
submarine, or instead choose a three-hour sailing excursion with snorkeling.
Tour Coxen Hole and the West End in the afternoon. Evening dinner together
under the stars where we complete our journey.
Day
Seven: (Saturday) Early morning flight back home to the States.
